On Sunday, June 8, more than 125 people attended the first Mackie Awards lunch at the Shangri-la Banquet Hall. Congratulations to our winners - Ian Proudfoot from York Region Media Group, John Tidball from Miller Thomson and Colleen Cugini, past Chair of the Markham Arts Council.

Their beautiful glass awards were donated by Melanie Kidd of Glowing Panes Stained Glass Studio. Entertainment was provided by the Quincy Bullen Quartet with Rob Christian, Flamenco Dancers from MainStreet Dance, and Andrew Tees from Opera York.

The Markham Arts Council would like to give a very special thank you to our major sponsor, Jan K. Overweel who not only provided a generous cash donation, but provided the wonderful cheeses.
